Simon Fujiwara’s lecture

Simon Fujiwara continuously re-constructs his own identity by weaving
his personal and family biographies into the larger scheme of history, through architectural installations, erotic fiction writing and lecture-performances. From expeditions in Africa to the underground world of sex in 70’s Spain, the personal experiences presented in Fujiwara’s lectures are used to explore a range of subjects from ethnology and eroticism to architecture and ancestry.

Home for Lost Ideas

Home for Lost Ideas is a publication allowing artists to revisit ideas they left behind.With contributions by artists such as John Baldessari, Sophie Calle, Liam Gillick, Jonathan Monk, Anri Sala, and Simon Starling, among others, this publication provides a place for the bad, the unfinished, and the impossible ideas that were never realized, a place where these projects could exist alongside each other. It is a collection of abandoned projects, an exhibition that can only be visited through the printed description of the unrealized works.

The Incest Museum, A Guide by Simon Fujiwara

The Museum of Incest is an ongoing project initiated by Simon Fujiwara in 2008. Subtitled “An erotic survey of civilization from ape to man and back again,”
this architectural project is composed of a fictive institution that explores the erotic origins of man, while proposing incest as part of man’s ancestry. The publication
is a guide to the museum, including a discussion of the fictive museum’s architecture, curatorial features, and the works presented in it. It is based
on a performance-lecture realized by Fujiwara as part of the project, titled
The Museum of Incest. A Guided Tour.

Simon Fujiwara (born London, 1982) is a Berlin and London-based artist, whose works have recently been shown at the 53rd Venice Biennial, Frame project
at Frieze Art Fair, and MAK Center for Contemporary Art and Architecture.
The Incest Museum has been shown at Umberto Di Marino Arte Contemporana, Naples, The Royal College of Art, London, OTIS, Los Angeles, and Limonchello, London.
